Standard Security Barrier Hiatus

Hale Pet Door has been proud to offer our line of security products, ramps, and more for many years to complement our pet doors. However, we are facing unprecedented challenges in receiving materials from some of our suppliers due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. This has led to materials shortages, greatly increased supplies and shipping costs, and extremely long lead times for our customers and dealers when placing orders.

Instead of passing on these increased costs to our customers, causing greater frustration due to not receiving products ordered in a timely manner, or settling for building our products with inferior materials, we have made the decision to temporarily discontinue selling our standard doghouse style barriers at this time. You can still purchase a simple security barrier if you need extra protection for accessing your pet door. However, the cedar facade for these barriers will not be available for the foreseeable future as well.

We will revisit this issue in the future and hopefully bring back the entire security barrier line when supply chains are more stable. Getting Custom Size Pricing Quotes For Your Customers

Hale Pet Door prides itself on having 12 standard sizes that work for the majority of installations and pets but, we also realize that there are many situations where a custom size pet door is an absolute necessity. Therefore, we are always happy to provide you with custom sizing of pet doors as required for your jobs. We also realize that custom size orders take a bit more effort so we have tried to streamline the process as much as possible for our dealers. We provide tools for you to be able to get quotes quickly and easily for your customers even if you are on the job site doing a custom measurement visit.

We have created a PDF file that can be easily accessed either through the dealer dashboard info tab or directly from the public custom size pet door page in our products section.

This PDF contains information about when you might need to consider a custom size pet door, how to measure for a custom size depending on if you are dealing with a rough opening, a tip to tip measurement, and whether you are measuring for a new pet door or an existing opening. It also contains two price charts for custom sizes based on the number of square inches either for the rough opening or the tip-to-tip.

While the price charts only list the prices for door and wall models in the PDF itself, the first column lists the size equivalent which you can use to look up pricing on our website for any model we offer. The only exception to this would be for oversize giant measurements, in which case, you will need to call or email us for assistance.

As a convenience we are providing a direct link to our custom orders page and to the custom orders PDF. You may wish to bookmark these links to make them easy to find when you are on the job site or talking to a customer.

Once you have the quote and wish to place the order, you can order the same way as you would for a standard pet door. Choose the equivalent size pet door for the product you are ordering. Add it to your cart and then add a comment with the custom size information required for your order. Make sure you label your measurements with width and height and specify what type of measurement they are: rough opening, tip to tip, flap size, etc.

Of course, we will still be available to help you with any quotes you need by phone or by email but starting with the webpage and PDF may be an advantage. To fulfill state mandated COVID-19 regulations we are rotating staff, working from home or staying home with any symptoms as a precautionary measure. This may cause a significant delay in our response times due to the current backlog of orders and our high customer volume. We appreciate your business, patience, and understanding at this time and as we all go forward.

Join Hale Pet Door to Help Others this Giving Tuesday

Celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, it kicks off the holiday season by giving back – to your community, to charities – by volunteering, gifting or donating money. Created to combat commercialism and powered by social media and your collaboration.

Hale Pet Door takes our charity work seriously and makes donations every week to pet rescues around the country.  We have also participated in Giving Tuesday in the past and are happy to do so again this year.  With so many natural disasters around the country and around the world, we decided to focus our donations this year on helping those affected.
